Review – Baila Conmigo
February 24, 2021
The music video for Baila Conmigo by Selena Gomez and Rawu Alejandro was released on January 28th, 2021. This song was actually one of Selena Gomez’s first songs in Spanish and is on her first Spanish language album! It features Rauw Alejandro, a Puerto Rican artist that adds some spice and reggaeton to the song.
The video starts with a group of young men riding dirt bikes down the beach. Then it shows a young woman watching a music video that Selena Gomez is in on the TV. She admires Selena’s dancing, and decided to get up and start to follow along with the dance moves. We soon learn that this is a flirtatious love story between one of the bikers and the young woman. The young woman and young man were showing there love through dancing, like a metaphor. Selena Gomez was not in the music video very much, but with the actors I could see the chemistry and the talent through the screen, and they made a really convincing love story!
Selena Gomez is not fluent in Spanish, so I was taken off guard at how good this song and music video was. This is a song I could vibe to in the car, dance to, or even sing along to when I’m in the shower. I would recommend this song to my friends because, who doesn’t like a good reggaeton song?! Also, it’s very catchy, and also it is a really good collab between Rawu Alejandro and Selena Gomez. I would rate this song and video a strong 4.5 out of 5 stars!
